The whole list
What I do, and what I don't
I'm one licensed applicator with one helper. I'd rather say no early than do a job badly.
| The job | I don't | I do |
|---|---|---|
| Mice and rats in the house | I don'tRebuild rotted siding or a foundation | I doFind the way in, set traps and seal the gaps I can reach |
| Ants | I don'tTreat a whole field or pasture | I doFollow the trail, treat where it starts and outside along the foundation |
| Wasps and yellowjackets | I don'tWork from a roof edge or a tall tree | I doTreat nests I can reach from the ground or a ladder |
| Box elder bugs and cluster flies | I don'tPromise they won't be back next year | I doTreat the outside walls in the fall and explain the sealing that helps |
| Skunks, raccoons, bats and squirrels | I don'tTrap, move or exclude wildlife | I doSay what it looks like and who to call |
| Bed bugs and termites | I don'tTreat them, which needs a firm set up for it | I doLook at your photo and say what it is |
| Grain bins, feed rooms and barns | I don'tLivestock buildings, grain and feed storage | I doSheds and garages next to the house |
| Where | I don'tAnything past that | I doHomes within about 60 miles of Great Falls |
When it isn't mine
Who I'd call instead
I can't vouch for every business, so these are places to start.
Wildlife in the attic or walls
Start with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, or a licensed wildlife operator near you.
Termites and bed bugs
A structural pest firm licensed for it. Ask for the license number and what the report covers.
Grain bins and livestock buildings
Your county Extension office can point you to an agricultural applicator.
Rotted wood and gaps I can't reach
A carpenter or a roofer. Seal it and the mice have fewer ways in.
Not sure which side it's on?
Text a photo. I'll say whether it's mine, whether it needs anything at all, and who to call if not.
